That's exactly why we made Wednesday one of the best nights of the week at Kelley's Village Inn. It's Pork Chop Night on Jefferson Highway, and we've got a dozen raw oysters for $9 to go with it.
A Real Home-Cooked Plate, Without the Dishes
Our Wednesday special is the kind of supper a lot of us grew up on. It's a chargrilled pork chop with mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans. The chop picks up that smoky char from the grill, the mashed potatoes are there to soak up every bit of gravy, and the green beans round out the plate.
It's comfort food, plain and simple, and it's the kind of meal that feels like somebody's mama made it for you. The only difference is you don't have to wash a single pot afterward. For families around River Ridge and Harahan, it's an easy answer to the "what are we doing for dinner?" question that comes up every Wednesday.
$9 for a Dozen Raw Oysters
If you're a raw oyster person, Wednesday is your day too. A dozen raw oysters is just $9, served cold with lemon. Start the table off with a dozen to share, or put away a dozen on your own before the pork chop shows up. We won't judge, and neither will anybody else in Jefferson Parish.
The $9 dozen is a Wednesday and Saturday deal, so if you miss it tonight, you've got one more shot this week.

Friday: Crab Night, with fresh crabs at market price, all-crab pasta, or soft shell crab over cream pasta.
Saturday: Snow crabs at market price, $2 long necks and $5 frozen margaritas all day, plus the $9 dozen raw oysters again.
