Friday night around here has always meant one thing at the supper table: seafood. At Kelley's Village Inn on Jefferson Hwy, we keep that tradition going every week with Crab Night. The hard part isn't deciding to come. It's deciding which crab plate to order. Here's a little help making the call.
Boiled Crabs: For the Folks Who Like to Pick
If you grew up spreading newspaper across the table and cracking crabs with your family, this one's for you. Our fresh boiled crabs are served at market price, because crab prices move with the season and the catch. Just ask your server for tonight's price.
Boiled crabs are for you if:
You don't mind getting your hands a little messy.
You like a slow, talk-the-whole-time kind of dinner.
You came with a crew and want something everybody can dig into together.
All-Crab Pasta: All the Flavor, None of the Work
Love crab but not in the mood to pick? The all-crab pasta gives you that sweet crab flavor with nothing but a fork in your hand. It's a good pick for a first date, a work dinner, or anybody wearing a shirt they'd like to keep clean.
Soft Shell Crab Over Cream Pasta: The Showstopper
This is the plate that turns heads when it comes out of the kitchen. A whole soft shell crab sits right on top of a rich, creamy pasta, so you get crispy crab and comfort food in the same bite. If you only try one thing on Crab Night, this is a great place to start.
Can't Decide? Bring Some Help
The best answer might be to come with friends and order a little of everything. Crab Night is made for sharing, and the table always gets louder once the crabs show up. Anybody who isn't in a crab mood can grab a fully dressed po-boy, a muffuletta or one of our Italian plates, so nobody leaves hungry.
Fresh Seafood Close to Home in River Ridge
You don't have to cross the parish for a good seafood dinner. Kelley's is a family-friendly seafood restaurant in River Ridge, just down the road from Harahan, and our neighbors all over Jefferson Parish count on us for fresh seafood every week. If you're planning for a bigger group, give us a call about larger orders and we'll be glad to talk it through.
And if one crab night isn't enough, tomorrow is Snow Crab Saturday, with $2 long necks, $5 frozen margaritas and a $9 dozen raw oysters. Make it a crab weekend.
